Research Interests: Understanding the mechanisms underlying adipose tissue expansion through adipogenesis and hypertrophy.
Education: B.S./M.S. in Biomedical Engineering (New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ); Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering (New Jersey Institute of Technology & Rutgers Biomedical Health and Sciences, Newark, NJ).
Favorite Scientist: Carl Sagan (1934-1996) for his ability to effectively communicate and popularize science. As a gifted educator, Sagan presented complex scientific ideas in graspable prose and inspired countless to the wonders of scientific discoveries. Through his books and television series, he made science accessible to the masses and positioned science in a broader cultural context. As an exemplary researcher and scholar, Sagan emphasized the importance of the scientific method and reaffirmed trust of science.
